BEIJING, Nov. 14 Kyodo
The Japanese Embassy in Beijing on Monday warned Japanese nationals in China of human infection of bird flu, as cases of avian influenza were recently confirmed across China.
The warning includes reports on the cases of avian influenza involving the H5N1 strain of virus as of last Friday from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north through Hubei Province in central China.
The embassy said that there have been suspected cases of human infection of bird flu and warned the Japanese nationals not to approach poultry houses and other facilities.
China has no confirmed cases of human infection of bird flu, which have occurred in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia since late 2003, with at least 62 of 121 patients dying.
